Fingerprinting Procedures

All IHSS Providers are required to go through a background check and fingerprinting. Link2Care will NOT pay for background checks for Providers. Those Providers wishing to be on the Registry must complete the State Orientation and background check process and be willing to meet all the Registry task standards before being accepted to be a Registry Provider.

If you do not intend to pursue employment through the Link2Care Registry, you must call 558-2637 to get your paperwork and information on the background check and schedule the mandatory State Orientation class.

Fingerprinting and Background Checks

All Registry Providers must undergo fingerprinting and background checks.

You must complete the Mandatory State Orientation including fingerprinting and background check prior to applying to be a Link2Care Registry Provider. If you have completed this process in another county please call us at 558-1650. Bringing in background check results that were done for another agency (not part of IHSS) will not be accepted. Please contact our office before paying unnecessarily to have your prints done somewhere else as potential Providers will need to use our background check form.

If a Provider has been convicted of Elder Abuse, Child Abuse or Fraud against a government entity, State law requires an automatic ten year exclusion from being an In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider. There are additional exclusions that would disqualify an individual from becoming an IHSS Provider (Disqualifying Crimes SOC 426C).

Why We Conduct Fingerprinting and Background Investigations

One of our State mandates that arose out of AB 1682 was to investigate the qualifications of potential Providers. State Law changed and now an IHSS Provider must undergo a background check.

It is our duty to refer only those Providers who have undergone a thorough background check and received training to the IHSS Recipients in Stanislaus County. If you have questions please contact us via the email link below or by telephone at 558-1650.
