Wages and Benefits

Currently (10/07) In-Home Supportive Services Providers in Stanislaus County make $8.84 per hour.

Providers who work 75 or more hours per month are eligible for health insurance. The links on right will provide you with further information on wages and insurance benefits.

The Registry

The Registry functions similarly to an employment referral service. Link2Care screens potential Providers and then matches the Providers to the Recipients needs. Link2Care’s Registry Specialist interviews potential Providers regarding the Providers skills and abilities to perform authorized In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) tasks. Once a match is made, the names of the potential Providers are sent to the Recipient, who then contacts the Providers to arrange for an employment interview.

Insurance Offered

Link2Care offers medical, dental and vision insurance for eligible Providers. Providers receiving health insurance will have a premium payment of $20 per month, taken directly from their IHSS Paycheck. This premium pays for all three medical plans – health, dental and vision.

Why We Conduct Fingerprinting and Background Investigations

One of our State mandates that arose out of AB 1682 was to investigate the qualifications of potential Providers. Link2Care Registry Providers must undergo a Department of Justice background investigation and complete a Livescan (electronic fingerprint) check. If a Provider has been convicted of Elder Abuse, Child Abuse or Fraud against a government entity, State law requires an automatic ten year exclusion from being an In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Provider. Link2Care, upon the recommendation of our In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee (IHSSAC) also has exclusions (Matrix) that would disqualify an individual from becoming an IHSS Provider.

It is our duty to refer only those Providers who have undergone a thorough background check and received training to the IHSS Recipients in Stanislaus County.
