Registry Provider Orientation and Training Classes
Step One: Orientation
Orientation classes will take you through the application, fingerprinting and training process and explain how to obtain work through the IHSS Registry. You must call our registry specialist at 558-4881 to register for the orientation class.
Step Two: Fingerprinting & Background Check
Once you have completed the orientation class, you will be given a fingerprinting form and instructions on how to complete your fingerprinting and background check. Link2Care will pay for your fingerprinting and background check if you complete the orientation and application process.
Step Three: Training Class
After completing the fingerprinting process, you must attend our two day caregiver training class. Again, call 558-4881 to register for this class. You MUST register for this class before attending.
The two day caregiver training is provided free of charge. This training gives IHSS registry providers valuable information about how to properly care for IHSS recipients. The training includes topics such as:
- Body Mechanics (Safe lifting and transferring techniques)
- Personal Care
- Disability Sensitivity
- Safe Wheelchair Use
- Safety
- IHSS Payroll and Timecard Processes
- Adult Protective Services
- CPR Training
At the end of the two day class, participants receive a certificate of completion, as well as CPR cards showing a 2 year certification.
Orientation and trainings are held at the Link2Care office located at 305 Downey Avenue. Providers who would like to attend MUST register for these classes. Please call 558-4881 for more information about class dates and times. |
